Politics | May 1, 2003, Thursday // 00:00

Recent Interior Ministry report provides incomplete information about the state of anti-crime fight in Bulgaria, said Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov on May 1.

According to President Parvanov, the report lacks data about higher layers of organized crime.

In his words the report does not cope with the possible connections between organized crime and Bulgarian politicians.

President Parvanov added that another report should be prepared, outlining all possible governmental and legal measures that should be taken against organized crime.

Bulgarian President commented that the situation connected to the resignation of Interior Ministry's Chief Secretary Boyko Borisov had developed according to his expectations. Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Boyko Borisov handed his resignation to Bulgarian Prime Minister a week ago after he rendered the report dealing with organized crime. His resignation was not accepted.
