Bulgarian captain and Stuttgart star Krassimir Balakov played with the national team for the last time in the friendly Bulgaria-Albania April 30. Balakov appeared on the pitch for nine minutes to help the Bulgarian team win 2:0.

Balakov who was in the best Bulgarian team which hit the forth place at the World Championship in 1994 said he would retire after the match with Albania. The star who had impressive career with Germany's Stuttgart added that he would end his soccer career with Bulgarian national team and four weeks later would quit international soccer.

This statement put an end to the four-week speculations concerning Balakov's announcement after Bulgaria-Estonia match.

Balakov has won 91 caps and scored 16 goals for Bulgaria.
