The political leadership of the ruling party Simeon II National Movement is expected to hold a meeting today to discuss the resignation of Interior Chief Secretary General Boyko Borisov.
This was announced by the chair of the parliamentary foreign policy, defence and security committee Stanimir Ilchev while on a visit to the village of Pripek.
General Borissov handed in his resignation to the prime minister on Friday, after he delivered a report from his ministry with information linking local politicians, magistrates and officials with members of organised crime groups.
Stanimr Ilchev described as "a hasty move" the resignation of General Borissov, making public data from the report, compiled by the Interior Ministry, without seeking a second check of the information.
