This year, April 25 is Good Friday for orthodox Bulgarians. It is the Friday before Easter and it is believed to be the day Jesus has been crucified.
Legend has it that during Good Friday no one should work, as it is considered to be a sin.
Bulgarians mark Good Friday by going to church in the evening. When church bells start ringing people pass under a table in the middle of the church and light a candle. This is believed to render sins redeemed.
Good Friday follows Great Thursday, the day that Easter eggs are being coloured in Bulgaria - one of the last days for Easter preparations.
