The Bulgarian National Assembly adopted with 158 votes in favor and 1 abstained a new declaration against terrorism, Info radio reported. The declaration was necessitated because of the new developments in the international situation. The declaration supports the creation of a global coalition against terrorism. It clarifies that Bulgaria is ready to give moral, logistic and diplomatic support and to participate in rescue and peacekeeping actions. After the adoption of the declaration Defense Minister Nikolay Svinarov said that, for the time being, the declaration categorically excludes the participation of the Bulgarian military in the operation. He explained, however, that if a political decision on this matter is adopted, which would be supported by a subsequent National Assembly decision, the Bulgarian army has the technical readiness to send troops for participation in the planned anti terrorism operation.
