At least 21 high-school students died yesterday when their bus crushed in a terrible collision with a lorry carrying a load of timber sheets on a trailer. Some reports suggest death is as high as 24. Twenty-nine other people were injured and three are in critical condition. The accident happened in the Vale of Tempi, 250 miles north of Athens. They were taken to hospital in Larisa, the nearest large town, and Katerini. The students, enrolled in a school in the village of Makrohori in northern Greece, were returning home from a three-day school trip to the capital.
