Forks&Corks: Vanilla Ice Cream & Cherry Sorbet

Ingredients for vanilla ice cream: 1 cup heavy cream, 1 cup light cream, Ѕ cup sugar, ѕ tsp vanilla extract 1 pinch salt.

Ingredients for cherry sorbet: 1 liter fresh cherries, or frozen or canned, juice of 3 lemons, 1 cup + 2 tbsp sugar (225 g), ѕ cup water

Instructions: Stir until sugar dissolves. Puree cherries and combine with lemon juice, sugar, and water. Pour first half of the vanilla ice cream into a heart-shaped dish, freeze for about an hour until hard, then add the cherry sorbet, again wait fro about an hour for it to freeze, and finally pour the rest of the vanilla ice cream. Take out of the dish and decorate with whipped cream and whole cherries.
