The government approved two chapters of the accession negotiations with the EU on Energy Production, Regional Policy and Structural Instruments and Finance & Budget.

The Bulgarian Minister of Defense Nikolay Svinarov will organize the modernization of the MIG 29s at the Graf Ignatievo base. The defense ministry will fund the upgrade of the planes.

Agafonov, former MP and former owner of the syphoned and bankrupt Slaviani Bank appeared in court on September 20. The bank`s former CEOs Petko Kolev and Rumen Zhechev were also present at the trial as well, but the session was postponed for November 12 due to defense absence.

The Bulgarian soldier Petar Petrov was killed while fighting fires along the E-80 highway, near Lyubimec. He was hit by a Mercedes. Probably the smoke was the reason for the accident.

Record low unemployment for the last few years was measured in Burgas. As of August 31 the rate of unemployment stands at 8.6%. The national average unemployment rate is 16.7%.
