The cabinet will decide shortly on its stand on the ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court, which revoked the Cabinet's decision for the closure of Kozloduy Nuclear Units 3 and 4 in 2006, Energy Minister Kovachev said.

A five-member panel of the Supreme Administrative Court confirmed last Friday an earlier decision of a three-member panel of the court, revoking the Cabinet's decision on Kozloduy Nuclear Units 3 and 4.

The ruling cannot be appealed.

At the beginning of January, the three-member panel of the Supreme Administrative Court revoked the Cabinet's decision, which approved additional information on the Energy chapter of the acquis.

By that additional information, Bulgaria undertook to close Kozloduy Units 3 and 4 units in 2006 in exchange for a commitment to a new technical expert inspection or peer review of the two reactors' safety.

The peer review at Bulgaria's nuclear power plant Kozloduy will be conducted by October or November this year, Energy Minister Kovachev added.
