The Balkans have never been a happy place, Goran Bregovic, leading film music composer, said upon his arrival in Sofia on a flight from Paris.
We were born here and we are doomed to hear bad news for the rest of our lives, the composer of the original soundtrack for "Arizona Dream" said.
Bregovic comes to Bulgaria on his fifth visit at the invitation of Slavi's Show, a satirical show aired on private national TV channel bTV.
As a composer from the Balkans, I can compose Balkan music only. I am happy to be in Sofia and really hope to stage a big concert here one day, Bregovic said.
Asked about the war in Iraq, Bregovic was laconic: "It is terrible."
