FRENCH PARLIAMENT FAVORS BULGARIA`S EU CANDIDACY

`France considers that Bulgaria`s candidacy to become a member of the EU is equal to the bids of all other applicants,` Francois Loncle, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly. Loncle said that after a meeting with the Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman Ognyan Gerdzhikov. The two officials agreed that efforts of all states should unite for the combat against global terrorism. `We are unanimous that the terrorist acts in the United States are an attempt against the world civilization,` Gerdzhikov said. Loncle and Gerdzhikov discussed the opportunities for attracting French investment in Bulgaria. The French delegation also met the Foreign Minister Solomon Passy. After the meeting, Loncle said that during the talks in Sofia he felt clearly the Bulgarian wish to join Europe and that will be conveyed to the French authorities. The case with forged visas to Bulgarians by the previous top officials of the French Embassy in Sofia was handed over to the justice authorities. `All measures will be taken to keep the good bilateral relations of France and Bulgaria,` Loncle said, quoted by BTA.
