Today, three barges are expected to arrive to begin unloading the stranded Vera Su. However, the ship's crew has so far refused to leave the ship, "24 Hours" daily reported.

The vessel was moored with two anchors, which should keep it stable on days with more stormy seas. Already, 23 cubic meters of fuel and lubricants have already beensyphoned off, the transport ministry said.The Varna Court of Appeal clarified that the people on board should be questioned by a judge. Attempts to make this happen continue.

The development of the case of the stranded Turkish ship Vera Su:

On September 20, the Panama-flagged Turkish ship Vera Su got stuck in the rocks near Yaylata natural reserve.

Until 24 September, there was no action on the part of the relevant institutions.On September 24, the Basin Directorate took samples of the seawater, the results of which were announced on Monday, with the statement "there are traces of nitrite nitrogen."

Also on Friday, September 24, the head of the       Maritime Administration EA announced that the institutions had rejected the rescue plan of the ship owner and insurers and were waiting for a new response.

Over the weekend, September 25 and 26, environmentalists and locals alerted that there was pollution, the state was idle, and the dangers of  bad weather and stormy seas put the entire ecosystem at risk, as any delay could be fatal.

Sunday, September 26, the transport minister ordered an emergency operation.

On Monday, September 27, an operation was launched to unload the cargo ship, with a crane and barge attached to it. The barge got stuck, too, and the packing machine broke down.

September 28 - announced a halt to the operation after footage was circulated showing nitrogen fertilizer spilling into the sea in the process of unloading. Later in the day, the Ministry of Environment announced that they had not authorised such unloading methods.

On the spot Hristo Alexiev announced that foreign assistance was being sought. The head of the Maritime Administration admitted that the country does not have the necessary equipment.

Hristo Alexiev disxharged the head of the Maritime Administration for serious inadequacy in the release of the ship Vera Su. He clarified that the priority is to rescue the crew.Addiional anchoring of the ship was carried out to protect it from turning around because of the bad weather.

On October 2, the transport minister announced that the cargo ship Vera Su was sinking after the trunk section began filling up with water.

Earlier in the day, the rescue staff announced they were syphoning off more fuel and awaiting a border crossing. According to the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), they found no contamination around the stranded Turkish ship Vera Su.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Environment and Water announced for the second time that daily monitoring of the waters around the stranded ship is underway, and tomorrow, October 5, two more barges are expected to arrive to help, as well as a border police cutter.
