Bulgaria: Taliban Capture US Planes and Missiles

The Taliban terrorist movement has seized a small number of US aircraft, military helicopters and anti-tank missiles, sources told Al-Arabiya TV.

As the interlocutors of the channel noted, the seizure of even a small number of weapons is of concern to the leadership of the United States.

The United States is awaiting the completion of the evacuation in order to decide on the conduct of some operations, including the bombing of warehouses, the sources said.

At the same time, Washington has not yet made a decision on concrete steps to eliminate weapons. Sources said the Taliban may have difficulty trying to use helicopters and planes, as they have no pilots and no access to maintenance.

In the meantime, General Steve Lyons, the head of the transportation command of the US Armed Forces, said that the US military transport planes evacuating people from Afghanistan are in serious danger.

He did not specify what specific threats were in question, but expressed confidence that they could be prevented.

“This is a significant threat. I would not want to go into details,” Lyons said at a briefing, answering the question of what could threaten US aircraft in Kabul.

He noted that the transport command of the US Armed Forces is in contact with the central command of the troops to identify possible threats. The general is confident that the command is taking all necessary measures to prevent threats.

The day before there was a shootout at the Kabul airport with unknown persons, in which the American and German military took part.
