So far, almost 500,000 Bulgarian citizens have filed their annual income tax returns from 2020 with the National Revenue Agency (NRA).

85% of these are filed online, according to the revenue administration. The tax campaign for declaring the income received in 2020 ends at midnight today, May 5, for the users of electronic services, and at 5.30 pm for those who have chosen to submit their forms on paper in the offices of the Revenue Agency.

The declaration can also be sent by mail, as the date of the postmark is valid, reminded by the NRA.

The pre-filled tax return is preferred by nearly 70% of those who have declared their income so far, added the revenue administration.

Anyone who has a personal identification code (PIC) or a qualified electronic signature (QES) has access to it through the Agency's e-services portal.

The deadline for payment of the declared tax for additional payment under the annual declaration also expires today, reminded by the NRA.

The most convenient way to pay the tax is electronically with a debit and credit card.

The service "Information on the obligations with the possibility of payment" is available with the runway and QES in the portal for e-services of the revenue agency, and for payments with the so-called virtual POS no fees are due.
