Bulgaria: Bulgaria: Five Quarantined Lawmakers Sworn in Remotely

Five of the newly elected Members of the National Assembly - the leader of There Is Such a People Slavi Trifonov and two of his MPs, Atanas Kostadinov from BSP and Khalil Letifov from MRF, have been quarantined because of COVID-19.

The Parliament decided that the MPs placed in isolation should participate through an online platform in today's and subsequent meetings of the 45th National Assembly. On behalf of There Is Such a People Victoria Vasileva read the proposal. The MPs voted unanimously by a hand-raising because of a lack of an electronic system in plenary hall.

The remote participation in plenary sessions was introduced in the previous 44th National Assembly.
