In the past 24 hours, 4,637 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country, data from the Single Information Portal shows.
Yesterday, 19,497 tests were made - 8,466 PCR and 11,031 antigen. Their positivity rate is 23%.
For the day in Bulgaria, 2,828 vaccines against Covid-19 were administered - 2435 of Pfizer/BioNTech and 393 of Moderna. Since the start of the immunisation campaign, 341,707 doses have been given, as 59,994 people have received the second shot.
As of March 16, there were 44,663 active Covid-19 cases.
The number of hospitalized, which is now 7,269, continues to grow. 677 patients were placed in intensive care.
During the day, the disease claimed the lives of 187 people, and 1,877 were cured.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 11,472 casualties in Bulgaria, 227,059 people have recovered.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country is 283,194, of which 10,867 are medics.
The most new cases are registered in Sofia, Burgas, Plovdiv and Varna.
