Bulgaria's capital Sofia was illuminated for the third time by a glittering Vienna Ball March 22, which took place under the patronage of H.E. Karl Diem, Austria's Ambassador in Sofia.
Vienna Club Association and Austria's Embassy in Sofia organized the charity event in aid of the department for children's surgery at the Neurology Center at the Emergency Institute Pirogov in Sofia.
Some 300 people attended the charity event at Kempinski Zografski Hotel, among whom ministers, politicians, businessmen.
Debutantes Ball marked the beginning of the event as in any other Vienna Ball, but as the evening proceeded the tradition was broken.
Schenker, one of the leading international providers of integrated logistics services, and Erste Bank, Austria were main sponsors of the event, which remains the most glittering charity event in Bulgaria, synonymous to high-life entertainment. It took place in partnership with Siemens, Raiffeisenbank, Knauf and M3 Communications Group, Inc, leading Bulgarian PR company (www.m3bg.com).
A total of BGN 14, 000 were raised at the ball.
The Vienna Ball in Sofia took place for the first time seven years ago, but has been included in the official calendar of the Vienna Balls and supported by Vienna municipality since 2001.
