The American University in Bulgaria canceled all events celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The AUBG community and its friends will gather to acknowledge the tragic events in the United States and speak for the important mission of AUBG into the Second Decade on September 21 from 6pm to 8pm, in the Peyo Yavorov Hall, Blagoevgrad. A reception will follow the commemoration where awards will be presented to photographic and essay contest winners. The University Board of Trustees will convene on September 21 and September 22 to conduct its regularly scheduled meeting with a modified agenda that will focus on long-term sustainability and development issues as AUBG enters its second decade. The American University in Bulgaria is deeply moved by the outpouring of support, sympathy, and understanding that has been expressed by members of the Blagoevgrad community, the Government of Bulgaria, the diplomatic, business and NGO community as well as its many friends and alumni, a press release from the university says.
