Grigor Dimitrov and the Paris Olympics: Does He Meet the Criteria?
As the 2024 tennis season unfolds, Bulgarian sensation Grigor Dimitrov emerges as one of the standout players, enjoying his best start to the year in recent memory
Football fans across Europe are set for an exciting final quarter in 2020, with the schedule packed with some truly mouth-watering fixtures.
With most top flight seasons starting slightly later than would normally be the case, the games will come thick and fast between now and the end of the year.
Thousands of fans will be eager to wager on the games and many will take advantage of offers on sites like Wink Bingo with a view to trying to boost their bankroll ahead of the busy period.
We’ve taken a look at the upcoming calendar to highlight seven soccer games you simply cannot afford to miss over the next few months.
Galatasaray v Fenerbahce – September 27
These two clubs despise each other and games between them tend to be fierce affairs, both on the pitch and around the stadium.
Their mood won’t have been helped by the recent emergence of İstanbul Basaksehir as a genuine threat to their historical dominance of Turkish football.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce finished sixth and seventh respectively in the Super Lig last season and will be desperate to improve on that this time around.
On that basis, their meeting at the end of September could prove to be hugely important in terms of determining whether either side can mount a serious title challenge this season.
Lazio vs Inter Milan – October 4
Both teams gave Juventus a run for their money in Serie A last season and are expected to be in the title running again this term.
Lazio ended the campaign in fourth place, while Inter claimed the runners-up spot before going on to reach the final of the Europa League.
Inter’s 2-1 defeat at Lazio in the corresponding fixture last season put a dent in their title hopes and they will be eager for revenge in their next meeting.
However, Lazio lost just twice at home during the 2019/20 campaign and are generally a tough nut to crack on their own patch.
Celtic vs Rangers – October 17
For anyone planning to access soccer streams to watch games over the next few months, the Old Firm clash between Celtic and Rangers is a must-see affair.
Celtic are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership for the tenth year in a row – a feat that has never previously been achieved in Scotland’s top flight.
Rangers will be going all-out to stop them, particularly with Hoops fans not known for being gracious when it comes to winning trophies.
Steven Gerrard’s side have made a strong start to the new season, but their visit to Celtic will highlight whether they can be classed as genuine contenders.
Partizan vs Red Star Belgrade – October 17
Known as the Eternal Derby, the rivalry between Partizan and Red Star is one of the most bitter you will find in European football.
Meetings between the two Serbian clubs are repeatedly marred by violence both inside and outside the stadium.
Things often degenerate into chaos on the pitch too, with both sides of the equation eager to prove that they are the top dog.
With Red Star sweeping to the title ahead of Partizan last season, their latest meeting is sure to be another fiery affair.
Barcelona vs Real Madrid – October 25
As the two biggest clubs in Spain with very differing ideals, it comes as no surprise to find that Barcelona and Real Madrid don’t like each other.
Barca were knocked off their perch by Madrid last season as Zinedine Zidane’s side prevented them from winning La Liga for the third successive year.
Neither side truly hit the heights they have reached in the past, with both suffering disappointing exits from the Champions League.
However, games between the pair are always worth watching and the next El Clasico will not be different in that respect.
Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich – November 7
Bayern continue to be the dominant force in Germany, with the club cruising to their eighth successive title last season.
Dortmund bagged the runners-up spot and will be eager to prove that they can compete on an equal footing during the current campaign.
The battle between Erling Braut Haaland and Robert Lewandowski could be crucial, with both forwards continuing to score goals at a frightening rate.
Dortmund cannot afford to lose to Bayern if they want to challenge for the title and may prove to be a good bet to pick up three points when this game comes around.
Manchester City vs Liverpool – November 7
Liverpool ended their 30-year wait to win a championship last season and thus prevented City from making it three-in-a-row in the Premier League.
City have improved their squad this summer, but Liverpool’s acquisition of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich shows that they aren’t resting on their laurels.
Pep Guardiola’s side ran out 4-0 winners when the two teams last met during July, although the Reds had secured the title prior to that defeat.
Their next meeting should be a cracker and could go a long way to determining who will win this season’s title.
