Bulgaria: Protests in Bulgaria, Day 38: No Tension, Demonstrations in Many Cities

On the 38th day of protests, demonstrations again took place in various cities across the country.

In Sofia, the protest was smaller than usual, according to the organizers of the "Poison Trio", the reasons are the rainy weather, the day off and the big Christian holiday Assumption.

Another night of protests in the capital passed without serious conflicts and reasons for tension. Traditionally, those dissatisfied with the government gathered on Independence Square at 7 p.m.

"We want better development, not to flee abroad and not to stay in our own country," protesters said.

At 9 pm, the protesters headed to the Eagle Bridge. There, on the occasion of the feast of the Assumption, they offered a common prayer. The impromptu service was headed by Archimandrite Dionysius, who in 2016 was temporarily banned from serving by the Synod.

At 10 pm it rained heavily and most of the protesters left.
