Bulgaria: Protests in Bulgaria, Day 28: No Tension, Demonstrations in Many Cities

Protests in Bulgaria, day 28 - Citizens marched on Independence Square in Sofia, demanding the resignations of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, as well as early elections.

In front of the Council of Ministers, they made a demonstration in which they carried a coffin with the inscription "Borisov's Dictatorship" and shouted: "Mutri out".

The strong storm in Sofia did not drive the protesters out of the three blocked points in the capital. However, the storm blew up their tents, but demonstrators were able to quickly repair the damage. There was a police presence in the area. The storm also washed away part of the tent camp of the mothers from "The System Kills Us" in front of Sofia University. Protesters there said they would spend the night in the van.

"We will stay until what we are here for happens, namely the resignation of Geshev, the resignation of Borissov and a change in the election rules so that they can be clear," a protester told BNR.

There are protests in other cities as well
Seeking the support of more citizens, the organizers of the anti-government protest in Ruse chose one of the busiest intersections - the one between the neighborhoods "Druzhba" and "Charodeyka". Protesters assessed the proposal for the resignation of the prime minister and the preservation of the government as unacceptable. Thanks to the perfect security organization of the event by the Security and Traffic Police, there were no accidents or tensions between drivers and protesters.

Protesters in Yambol for the 25th consecutive night gathered in front of the municipal building, demanding the resignation of the government and the chief prosecutor. The protest ended with a rally on Georgi Rakovski and Targovska streets.

Meanwhile, the road from Stara Zagora to Haskovo and the Trakia highway remained blocked for six days. Protesters remain in tents near the airport.
