AFGHANISTAN REFUGEES TO BE EXPECTED IN BULGARIA

`The US threats will force a great number of Afghanistan people to escape to other countries. Bulgaria is very popular in my country and many Afghanistans have already left for here,` the temporary ambassador in the Afghanistan Embassy to Bulgaria announced, quoted by Dnevnik Daily. According to him, the refugees will be at the Southern Bulgarian border in about a month since the distance between the two countries is very big. `No matter how well the border is guarded, these people cannot be stopped,` the diplomat warned. The Afghanistan Embassy in Bulgaria represents the officially recognized by the international community government of president Burhanuddin Rabbani that is in opposition since September 27, 1996 when the talibans took over the capital Kabul. Every evening 5-10 to 50 Afghanistan citizens try to illegally enter Bulgaria at the border with Turkey in the region of Svilengrad and Malko Turnovo, `Border Police` official said. There is a tendency for increase in the flow of the illegal Afghanistan immigrants in Bulgaria from January this year. Most of the immigrants are intelligent and educated people. When caught, they said that they were running from the talibans regime.
