The Municipality of Plovdiv has started the removal of sandboxes in kindergartens because they can be a source of infection. The epidemic situation has become the reason for making the final decision, which has been discussed for a long time. This was announced by the press center of the municipal administration.
In all kindergartens the sandboxes are covered and not used, the municipal administration clarifies. Some of them are filled with soil mixture and will be turned into flower, herbal or organic vegetable gardens. Other kindergartens have decided to turn the sandboxes into educational and theatrical corners, shock-absorbing playgrounds and play facilities.
According to the Education Directorate, in 10 kindergartens the sandboxes have already been completely removed, and in the remaining 42 they are being gradually transformed. According to the schedule, their removal should be completed no later than the end of 2020. / dariknews.bg
