President Parvanov awarded distinguished figures in Bulgaria's cultural life with Stara Planina Order, First Degree at an official ceremony March 11.

Among them are Ginyo Ganev, renowned Bulgarian politicians and a lawmaker in the Grand National Assembly, Anzhel Vagenshtain, famous screen writer, Leon Daniel, film director.

Hristo Nedyalkov, Yuri Bukov, Binka Zhelyazkova, Leon Daniel, Ivam Marinov, and Boris Rubashkin were honoured with Stara Planina order, Bulgaria's highest state medal.

Vulo Radev was awarded posthumously with Bulgaria's highest state medal.

Madarski konik medal for his contribution to popularising Bulgaria's and Slav culture and on the occasion of his 70th anniversary.
