Sofia mayor Stefan Sofyanski appealed today to the Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg to support current president Stoyanov in the forthcoming elections. He said Nationa movement Simeon II and United Democratic Forces must have one common candidate for president and it will assure the independency and non-party engagements of the future president, added Sofiyanski in a privately-owned bTV talk show. Sofyainski is a second term mayor of Sofia, former interim prime minister and has great political influence, mostly among UDF members. It is widely expected that National Movement Simeon II will launch its own candidate for president these days.
