WORLD BANK EXPERTS ARRIVE OCTOBER 1

A World Bank expert group arrives in Bulgaria on October 1. The experts and the Agriculture Ministry will assist farmers in drafting projects and business plans for funding under the SAPARD programme. World Bank Director for Bulgaria Andrew Vorkink announced that at a meeting with Agriculture Minister Mehmed Dikme. Vorkink stated that the World Bank is ready to help in the implementation of a project for extending micro credits to rural areas and setting up credit lines via the commercial banks. The project on the judiciary reform is also included in the Bank`s strategy for Bulgaria for the next three years, Vornik also announced. The World Bank will probably finance the rehabilitation of nearly 25 hospitals in order to transform them into well-operating health care establishments of Central European type. The experts from the World Bank will also work together with the Education Ministry on a project for education modernization. The project was signed on September 19 last year.
