THOUSANDS PUT FLOWERS IN FRONT OF US EMBASSY
Politics | September 14, 2001, Friday // 00:00
Dozens of citizens honoured the memory of the victims in the attacks in front of the American Embassy yesterday. Bouquets of flowers, candles and small wooden crests topped the metal grids in front of the embassy. A clipping of the front page of `Standart` reading `America Weeps` had been interwoven with the flowers. An indescribable traffic jam preceded the minute of silence in downtown Sofia. Horns and drivers` curses sounded all around. After the sirens stopped, unimaginative chaos reigned. The lines of cars tormented the citizens of Sofia till late in the afternoon.
