BULGARIAN IN NEW YORK STILL MISSING
Politics | September 14, 2001, Friday // 00:00
For a third day now there has been no news from Stoyan Ivanov, a missing Bulgarian who worked in the World Trade Center. His friend Alexander Stefanov reported the man was missing. A 26-year-old resident of Plovdiv was a consultant to the `Bank of America` based in the southern tower of the Center. Another Bulgarian economist has miraculously survived during the terror attacks at the World Trade Center. On the Black Tuesday a 30-year-old resident of Kjustendil, Stanislav Gogev, did not go to his office in the World Trade Center because he had to take his girlfriend Patricia to a gynecologist, told his sister Anelia who lives in Plovdiv. However, the two of them overslept and so had the incredible chance to be at home when the whole city was veiled in smoke and dust. Stanislav worked for a financial firm whose office was in the northern skyscraper that collapsed first. Anelia and her parents were paralyzed with horror when they heard the terrible news over the radio. Stanislav`s father called him right away but got connected with the voice mail only. The message he left was `Are you alive?`. The family has been waiting for a reply till midnight when Gogev finally managed to get through and console his parents saying he was safe and sound.
