A military delegation, led by the Chief of General Staff of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, General Nikola Kolev, and by Deputy Defence Minister Ivo Ivanov, will inspect today the Bulgarian Engineer Platoon, part of the NATO-led, UN-mandated Kosovo Force (KFOR).

The inspection will aim to check the condition of the contingent and the quality of its missions.

A meeting of a delegation, led by Interior Chief Secretary General Boyko Borisov, with Bulgarian police observers in Kosovo has been scheduled within the framework of the same visit.

Bulgaria replaced its contingent of peacekeepers in the multinational brigade within KFOR, based in Prizren in the middle of January. The change - the Seventh Engineering Platoon, was dispatched to Kosovo January 14. The platoon is 40 peacekeepers-strong.

The Bulgarian platoon in Prizren was first deployed on February 9, 2000.
