The man with the Slavic name Alex Philipov who flew with one of the hijacked airplanes that hit the World Trade Center in New York is not Bulgarian, Dnevnik Daily wrote. The wife of the victim told that to a reporter of Dnevnik Daily who called her in her home in Concord, Massachusetts. ` My husband has nothing to do with your country. Please, explain to everybody that he was not Bulgarian, his father was Serbian, that`s all, Alex was born in Canada, `she explained. George Vassilev, 36, working in the capital of California sent a worried e-mail to Dnevnik Daily. `On whose side is Bulgaria? Here they consider us terrorism supporters,` the e-mail said. Vassilev is a financial expert in a brokerage company. On 12 September when he went to work, his colleagues did not want to talk to him. Two articles in the local newspaper caused the reaction. The first one quoted a Bulgarian student: ` You deserved it! You showed off too much recently!` In the second article that published the names of all countries that sent condolences to US on he tragic incident, Bulgaria was not present. `Tell us whether the new government did not condemn the attack. However, if there was a reaction, please send us to the US media,` Vassilev appealed in the e-mail.
