From 18 March 2019, small and medium-sized farmers can apply for state aid for the purchase or construction of raw milk processing facilities, the State Fund for Agriculture (SFA) announced.
The total budget of the aid, which will apply until December 31, 2020, is BGN 1.5 million.
The aim is to help small and medium-sized farmers and producer organizations process and produce their own products on the farmer's markets and thus increase their income. Candidates must be registered under the Ordinance on the Specific Requirements for Direct Deliveries of Small Quantities of Raw Materials and Foods of Animal Origin.
Under the scheme, up to 50% of the construction costs of mini dairies will be reimbursed and the maximum aid amount is up to BGN 60 thousand. For the different types of investments, the maximum eligible costs are set according to approved instructions by the Minister of Agriculture, and forests.
When the applicants undertake to execute construction and assembly activities, the deadline for realization of the investment is up to 18 months from the date of conclusion of the contract. If such are not stipulated, the deadline for realization of the investment is up to 9 months from the date of signing the contract, explained by the SFA.
Applications for funding will be accepted at the regional agricultural directorates of the place of implementation of the investment. When applying, the documents are submitted personally by the applicant or by a person authorized by him, with a notarized explicit power of attorney. The funds will be paid into the applicant's bank account after proof of the target execution of the investment.
