The lowest temperatures in March in Bulgaria will be between minus 8 and minus 3 degrees, and the highest temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees. This was announced by Krassimir Stoev, a meteorologist at the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.

According to him in March the average monthly temperature is expected to be around and above the norm, which in North Bulgaria and in the high fields is between 5 and 7 degrees, the Black Sea and South Bulgaria - between 6 and 9 degrees, and in the mountains - between minus 8 and minus 3 degrees. The monthly sum of precipitation will be around the norm, which in the plains is between 40 and 60 liters per square meter, in the mountains - between 60 and 90 liters per square meter.

In March the dynamics of atmospheric processes will be increased and the weather will be variable, with frequent changes in temperatures and the precipitation phase.

During the first ten days of the month, despite frequent changes, temperatures will be higher than usual. The month will start with mostly sunny and warm weather with maximum temperatures between 13 and 18 degrees. On 2-3 March, the country will experience an atmospheric disruption and in some places will suffer rain and snow, but no significant precipitation is expected.

Temperatures will temporarily decrease. As of March 4-5, the air mass transfer will be south-southwest and temperatures will rise rapidly. March 6-8 is expected to again experience an atmospheric disruption that will lead to rainfall and lower temperatures. At the end of the first ten days, temperatures will rise again.

At the beginning of the second ten days, temperatures will drop and will be close to normal by the end of the period. The weather will remain dynamically with precipitation conditions around 11-12 March and March 15-17, as the cold weather in North and Western Bulgaria will pass through the snow.

And in the third ten days of March time will keep its dynamic character. Temperatures will be close to normal and will decrease after atmospheric interference. Rainfall is most likely to occur between March 22-25 and at the end of the month.

The climatic report of NIMH notes that the transition from winter to spring is taking place in March. The increase in daylight and sunshine results in a significant increase in temperatures, and mist is a rare occurrence. In March average snow is snowing in the plains 3-4 days. March is characterized by large anomalies and sudden changes in weather conditions. In some years, Arctic air invasions are so intense that temperatures are typically winter, with snowfall. Other times the weather is typically spring, and when tropical air infiltration, temperatures are almost summer - about 30 degrees.

According to the astronomical report, in the beginning of March the sun rises in 7 hours and 3 minutes, and sets at 18 hours and 16 minutes. The duration of the day is 11 hours and 13 minutes. At the end of the month the sun rises in 7 hours and 12 minutes, and sets at 19 hours and 51 minutes. The duration of the day is then 12 hours and 39 minutes.

The moon phases in March are: 6 March - New Moon, 14 - First Quarter, 21 - Full Moon, March 28 - Last Quarter.

The beginning of the astronomical spring in Bulgaria is on March 20 at 23 hours and 58 minutes, Krassimir Stoev informs.
