Bulgaria: Ognyan Zlatev, EC: No-deal Brexit is the Worst Option for Both Sides

All heads of the European institutions reaffirmed their view that the Brexit agreement was not subject to renegotiation. This is the position of the European Union too, Ognyan Zlatev, the head of the EC Representation in Bulgaria commented for BNT breakfast show on 31st of January, reports BNT.

In his words, the current agreement is the best that can be achieved at this stage. No-deal Brexit is the worst option for both sides. The time factor already plays its role, the EC is preparing for this scenario, Zlatev said.

He added that if there is no agreement by March 29, Britain will not participate in European elections, as it would mean a hard Brexit.

In such scenario, aircrafts from London will not have the right to land at European airports. There should be border check points built. The Commission has proposed 88 interim decisions to minimize the negative effects of Brexit without a deal.
