Bulgaria: High Avalanche Risk in Rila, Pirin and Rhodopes

There is high avalanche risk in the Rila, Pirin and Rhodope mountains, the Mountain Rescue Service with the Bulgarian Red Cross told Focus News Agency. A lot of snow fell over the weekend, and now with the increasing temperatures, the avalanche danger is great. Tourists should be extremely cautious when moving in high mountain areas. The weather is cloudy, temperatures ranging between 0 and -5 degrees Celsius, the wind is light to moderate. The snow cover is sufficient for skiing but skiers should stay on groomed ski runs.
All lift facilities are operational.
