Bulgaria: Snow Chains are Compulsory for Driving through Prevala and Pamporovo Passes

Meteorologists warn of downpours in most parts of Bulgaria. Code orange for heavy rains and black ice is in force for 5 districts in South-West Bulgaria on 25th of January, reports BNT. 

It is snowing heavily in the district of Smolyan, south Bulgaria.

Snow tyres are mandatory to drive through Prevala and Pamporovo.

Road Infrastructure Agency that the restrictions remain in place for movement of vehicles weighing more than 12 tonnes and vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers though Pamporovo pass.

Zlatograd dam is still overflowing. There is no risk for the residents in the area. There are no power outages and no reports for stranded people.
