Stones Hurled into Central Synagogue in Sofia (Photo)

An unknown man broke the windows of the Sofia Synagogue with stones, Nova TV reported. Apart from vandalism, temple staff are indignant at it happening in broad daylight and footage showing that no passer-by intervened to try to stop the perpetrator. He is not yet detained.
“This happened during our Shabbat on Saturday at 3 pm,” said Dr. Alexander Oscar, Chairman of the Organisation of Jews in Bulgaria Shalom. “Fortunately, there were no people in the hall. We cannot accept that this is just an ordinary act of vandalism, hooliganism. When temples are defiled – it is extremely disturbing. We must not stay indifferent,” he said.
