The current situation shows that peaceful solution to the Iraqi situation is possible, Yahya Salih Mahdi, Iraq's envoy in Sofia, told reporters.
The Iraqi charge d'affaires met with Deputy Parliament Speaker Yunal Lyutfi on Tuesday.
"We hope for peace," the Iraqi envoy said.
He explained again that Iraq is not able to return its debt to Bulgaria because of the heavy sanctions imposed on his country. Mahdi specified that he didn't have conversations with representatives of the Bulgarian foreign ministry for the Iraqi debt.
