''The profile of the perpetrator of the Charlie Ebdo bombing of 2015, the Paris bombing at the end of the same year and the attack in Nice are the same. Similar is the profile of the Strasbourg bomber. This is part of the French ghetto, which is uncontrollable.'' This is what the Arabist Professor Vladimir Chukov commented in the morning block of the Bulgarian National Television.

''The striker of Strasbourg has an "impressive" criminal biography - 27 convictions, 67 police accusations and 5 out of 29 years in French and German prisons. It remains unclear when he decided to adopt radical ideas'', Chukov added.

In response to a question about what makes these people radical, Chukov commented that everything from the ghetto could be expected: "He feels underestimated, marginalized, his income comes from robberies, he has specialized in bank robberies."

The striker was part of the list for people susceptible to terrorist acts but at a low level and was not monitored by the French services. He was a burglary specialist and has not had Jihadism manifestations until now.

Prof. Vladimir Chukov: 50 of a contingent of 1500 people are French jihadists, who went to Syria and Iraq, and some of whom have returned, are currently in Strasbourg. This is because of its location.

So far, the opinion is that the motivation is not terrorist, but the behavior is a terrorist, Chukov said.

Prof. Vladimir Chukov: Prisons are one of the conventional sources of radicalization. Very often in such places you will find radicals that affect other prisoners, especially when they are young when they are marginalized and they are absorbing easily the idea.

Bulgaria clearly has to outline what radical Islam means and to find the right interpretation. It is an evolving process, Vladimir Chukov noted.
