EURO TOURNAMENT MATCHES CANCELLED BY UEFA

UEFA heads announced on Wednesday cancellation all the matches from the Champions League and the UEFA Cup Tournament till end-week, in tribute to the victims of the terrorists` attacks in the USA. `The tragedy`s toll, the pain and agony it brings cannot help reflecting upon us. The UEFA people feel it`s the proper time European football family to show their respect to the pain and agony of those, who have lost their beloved,` reads the official statement of the Secretary General of UEFA. He also said UEFA will express their condolence and their deep compassion to those who suffered of this terrible act. 8 matches of the first four rounds of the Champions League and 5 matches of the first round of the UEFA Cup Tournament were played on Thursday evening. Before the game, all the players stood silent for one minute in memory of the victims in the USA. Some of the teams appeared with black crape bands on their sleeves. The matches of the three Bulgarian teams participating the UEFA Cup Tournament (Levski, CSKA and Litex) will be played on Thursday, September 20 (Thursday), sources from Bulgarian Football Union said.
