FOREIGN MINISTER SHORTENED VISIT TO BRUSSELS

Foreign Minister Solomon Passy came back earlier from his visit to Belgium. He had to accompany the Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg to his official visit to Brussels. The visit was cancelled because of the terrorist attack in the United States.The Bulgarian diplomacy strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the United States. `We confirm Bulgaria`s firm determination to be part of the effort and actions of the world community in fighting the fear-induced and cynical acts of international terrorism,` was written in the declaration.Before his return, Foreign Minister Passy met Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker and held talks with his Luxembourg counterpart, Lydie Polfer. The officials discussed the enlargement of NATO and the EU. Luxembourg is one of Bulgaria`s biggest supporters in the Bulgaria`s desire to join the two organizations. `We support Bulgaria`s bid to become a non-permanent member in the UN Security Council,` Foreign Minister Polfer said. Passy and Polfer analyzed the situation in Macedonia and their opinion was that the infrastructure of the region should be developed so that things get normal again. Luxembourg is determined to continue cooperation with Bulgaria in training of people working in the state administration and the judiciary field.
