Bulgaria: The EC Approved the Bulgarian Program to Combat Double Standards in Food

The European Commission has endorsed the proposal of MEPs from GERB Emil Radev and Andrey Novakov to introduce a program to fight the double standard of food. Non-governmental organizations can apply for it. Andrei Novakov - MEP from GERB: The collected data from the carrying out of more tests and the increased capacity of these organizations should serve to introduce minimum standards in the EU. What sets the procedure from now on - by the end of August, we will make a modification to the European budget of EUR 1 300 000 as the program and we expect from the beginning of 2019 that the EC start implementing the program. Probably by launching a public contract with an outsourcer to spell out the application rules. So, I hope we will have concrete results before 2019, including organizations from Bulgaria to be able to apply for this grant program in the EU.
