Bulgaria has crowned not one, but two Spelling Bee champions this year
Bulgarian students won four medals - one silver and three bronze medals at the International Biology Olympiad in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
With the silver medal of the competition, the eleventh grader Zdravko Ivanov from the Sofia Mathematics High School returned, Bronze Medals won three students from the National Mathematical High School - Viktor Georgiev, Vanya Milanova and eleven-graders Ivan Georgiev.
The results of the students are the result of their year-long work and several weeks of preparation with their supervisors - Albena Yordanova, Associate Professor at the Medical Faculty of the Sofia University, Snezhanka Tomova - Associate Professor at the Biological Faculty of Sofia University and Radoslav Alexandrov - PhD student at the Institute of Molecular Biology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The preparation and participation of the teams at international Olympiads is done thanks to the support of America for Bulgaria Foundation.
Bulgaria is one of the six founding countries of the 1989 Olympics and has sent its delegation from the outset. Traditionally, our country is performing at a high level and has won many medals. The year with the highest results from the beginning until now was 2017.
