Bulgaria's Dafovska Still World Cup Leader despite Bad Sprint

Former Olympic champion Ekaterina Dafovska of Bulgaria continues to lead in the overall World Cup competition after she finished 22nd in women's biathlon sprint in Finland's Lahti. This is the worst performance of the Bulgarian biathlonist this season. Olga Pilyova of Russia (23.07,8 minutes) became the winner of the sprint 19 s. ahead of Dafovska who also missed twice.

Though with melting lead, Dafovska remains ahead of main competitor Sylvie Becaert of France. The Bulgarian has 478 points in the World Cup Competition.

Russia's Albina Akhatova claimed the second place in the sprint while Katy Wilhelm of Germany finished third.
