French Tobacco Shops Start Selling Bitcoin Despite Regulatory Uncertainty
Several tobacco shops in Paris, France, have started selling Bitcoin (BTC) for fiat despite regulatory uncertainty, Reuters reports Tuesday, Jan.
CEE Block Sofia will be held on 25 and 26 October in Sofia Tech Park and will gather top politicians and leading international companies.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss the blockchain strategy of the European Commission and the Member States from a legal, regulatory, tax, economic and social point of view, in the spirit of the single European digital market and the needs of businesses working on blockchain technology.
The forum will present different views of experts from the block community, the technology ecosystem, academic circles, consultants, investors, financial institutions. The best practices in the block-based environment by leading technology companies will be presented, as well as start-ups with business-focused products and solutions.
CEE Block Sofia will be opened by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, who will present the vision of the European Commission on blockchain technology.
"Blockchain is changing the look of the digital world and I want Europe to be the engine of this change. We need to put the right foundation for this - a single digital blockchain market for the benefit of all citizens, "she said in presenting the new EU initiatives - the Observatory and the Block Chain Forum.
The event is organized by CEE Blockchain in partnership with Sofia Tech Park, SoftUni, LymeChine, Industria, Solutions for the Future and Digital National Coalition.
Among the lecturers of the forum will be President Rosen Plevneliev, Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council Lilyana Pavlova, Deputy Ministers of Education and Science Denitsa Sacheva and Prof. Ivan Dimov, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Transport, Information Technologies and Communications and the Agency for e-Governance. Ministers and representatives of the governments of the 22 member states signing a blockchain agreement in Europe.
CEE Block Sofia is a natural continuation and upgrading of the increased activity of the blockchain community in Bulgaria, Central and Eastern Europe and one of the many steps Bulgaria is making in its quest to establish itself as a digital hub for Central and Eastern Europe.
