Bulgaria: Bulgaria's Trade Gap Widens in Jan-May

SOFIA (Bulgaria), July 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's trade gap widened to 3.96 billion levs ($2.37 billion/2.02 billion euro) in the first five months of the year, from 3.06 billion levs in the same period of 2017, the country’s statistical office, NSI, said on Thursday.

Exports increased 2.0% on the year, reaching 20.9 billion levs in the January-May period, while imports rose by an annual 5.5% to 24.9 billion levs, NSI said in a statement.

In May alone, Bulgaria's exports grew 3.5% year-on-year to 4.3 billion levs, while imports added 4.4% to 5.2 billion levs.
