At the end of this week, a memorandum and agreement will be signed with four Chinese companies that have expressed interest in the tunnel under Shipka and not only, said Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov.
The small tunnel and the bridge facilities in September in Gabrovo will be launched ahead of schedule, Minister Nankov said.
"The 16 + 1 forum is in Sofia on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and we will sign on Friday with four Chinese State-owned private companies, mainly with state capital, interested not only in a tunnel under Shipka but entirely in the Rousse-Veliko Tarnovo highway to Shipka plus the Danube Bridge at Rousse-Giurgiu. There is a serious interest on their part and we will materialize it by signing a specific memorandum and agreement, "Nankov said.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction that in the end of the summer in Gabrovo, the small tunnel and the bridge facilities would be put into operation in advance.
