Bulgaria: Yellow Code for Rain and Thunder for Half of Bulgaria

On Friday in many places in the western half of the country powerful cumulus and rainy clouds will again develop. There will be intense short rains with thunderstorms and hailstorms.

Yellow code for rain and thunder activity has been announced for 15 regions of the country for June 15, Friday, according to the site of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The warning is in force for Vidin, Montanska, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovska, Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia city, Sofia area, Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Smolyan and Kardzhali regions. In these areas, short, intense precipitation accompanied by thunder is expected, with the expected rainfall in places being 20-35 liters per square meter.

The maximum temperatures will be from 25-28 degrees in western Bulgaria to 33-35 degrees - in northeastern Bulgaria. Atmospheric pressure will rise slightly, but will remain below the average for the month.
