Bulgaria: Yellow Code for Heavy Rainfall and Thunder in half of Bulgaria

Yellow code has been declared for 13 districts in Western and Southern Bulgaria, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The warning applies to Sofia-city, Sofia-District, Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Smolyan, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Sliven and Yambol districts.

In these areas there will be short-lived, and in some places significant, intense rainfall and thunderstorms. Hailstorm conditions remain. Expected amounts of rainfall are between 10 and 20 l / sq. M, in areas up to 35 l / sq m.

Until noon, however, most of the country will be mostly sunny, the weather forecasts promise. The predominant maximum temperatures will be between 28 and 33 degrees.

In the mountains before noon there will also be sunny hours, then temporary intense rainfall and thunderstorms. Sun will be on the Black Sea before noon. Around noon, however, it will start raining.
