Prime Minister Boyko Borissov held a meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj in Tirana. The two Heads of Government spoke at the Aqaba Process on the Balkans in the Albanian capital at Haradinaj's request.
Ramush Haradinaj highlighted the leadership position of the Bulgarian Prime Minister to focus Europe's attention on the countries of the Western Balkans and thanked the efforts of the Bulgarian Presidency to make progress in the integration of the countries in the region. Haradinaj expressed his country's readiness to help continue the partnership for the realization of Balkan projects.
Boyko Borisov and Ramush Haradinaj discussed transport projects for Balkan countries. Emphasis in the conversation was the construction of Corridor 8, which will connect the Adriatic with the Black Sea.
"There is a lot to be done if we want to develop our countries and connect the region with Europe," the Bulgarian prime minister said. In his words, the significance and benefits of implementing the projects for the region's cohesion will contribute both to improving the lives of the peoples and to deepening good neighborly relations in this part of the continent. "This is a necessary condition for achieving a good economy, stability, security and prosperity in the Balkans," the Bulgarian Prime Minister pointed out.
