Bulgaria: Most Young Bulgarians Want to have Two Children Pixabay.com

The generation of people between 14 and 29 years of age in Bulgaria imagines having two children in their lives. There is no significant change over the previous four years ago. This shows data from a study by Gallup International on a project by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, quoted by bTV.

12% of respondents said one child, 59% want two, 10% three, and 2% want four or more. "In fact, almost no one says he/she does not want children," the authors of the study said.

Income as well as education and place of residence are confirmed as important factors for the number of children desired by young people. Young people with a more favorable life outlook do not seem to put children so high in their list of priorities.

Gallup International notes that active talking about demographic change has not yet changed the ideas, plans, and dreams of people of childbearing age.
